A family business
Destilerías Joaquín Alonso was founded in 1944, when Joaquín Alonso Ramal began distilling anisette and gin, ageing brandy according to the solera process, and producing the spirits that were popular at that time.
Subsequently, the company was transferred to the son of the founder, Joaquín Alonso, who expanded the product range and branched out into other spirits, including pacharán, fruit liqueurs and non-alcoholic beverages, according to consumer preferences.
In 1979, industry moved away from the city center to its current location. Facilities and machinery have been upgraded, but traditional artisan brewing processes are still used for some of our drinks.
Now in its third generation of family ownership, the company has invested in product innovation and expanding the product line to meet consumer preferences in Spain and the International market.
